Toastmasters isn’t just about public speaking. It’s a community that connects like-minded people together. We gather, we share, we care, and we have fun too.
Yesterday, we co-organized a boat trip with Centraler Toastmasters Club, another renowned club in Hong Kong. Under surprisingly nice weather (HKO’s forecast was raining and thunderstorms), more than 30 members and friends from both clubs were happily headed to Ung Kong Islands – about a 1.5-hour ride from Sai Kung Pier.
It was a golden opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and learn how other clubs run meetings. Most importantly, it was an exciting day with water sports, sunbathing, karaoke, and lots of laughing and beers!
Ung Kong Islands’ beautiful beach and clear water rival Thailand or the Philippines, and we were able to see a lot of sea urchins, corals, and small fishes near the beach. No wonder many boats and yachts, big and small, gather around here with people swimming, dancing, snorkeling, wake surfing or just laying on the beach enjoying sunbathing and the sea breeze.
