Our recent meeting cantered on the theme of “Change,” where participants shared personal stories highlighting its various dimensions. From overcoming fears to embracing unexpected adventures, the discussions emphasized how change can lead to growth and meaningful connections.

Highlights:

• Martin Lam shared his journey from electrical engineering to finance through self-learning, showcasing the value of curiosity and intentional choices.
• Irene Cheng discussed the “Barnum effect,” explaining how vague personality descriptions can be misleading and encouraging us to take control of our personal narratives.
• Ben Fung recounted his trip to Japan, humorously navigating food orders despite the language barrier. He also shared a Disney mishap with his niece, highlighting the joy of family and the spontaneity of travel, reminding us that meaningful experiences often arise from unexpected moments.

Table Topics were led by Wendy Chan and evaluated by Pearl Ho using three criteria: Clear message, Set the stage, Call to action.
