Tonight – symbolizing an end as well as a beginning – we are not only celebrating the beginning of a new era with our new club officers being installed, but also reflecting on our challenging past as a team and as a club.

One year ago, our club began a new chapter under the leadership of our president Raymond Chung and the new excom team. It had been a very challenging year for all our officers and members, we changed our meeting format from in-person meeting to online meeting to now hybrid meeting in order to adapt the ever-evolving pandemic and its impacts on our city and our way of life. We also faced a relocation problem – we were forced to move out of our meeting venue in Tin Hua, as it became a designated quarantine hotel, on very short notice, but fortunately we found a new home in Causeway Bay.

During this difficult time, our membership kept growing strong thanks to the hard work of our excom team. Today, our club has gained more than 20 new members while achieving the highest club honor again – the President’s Distinguished Club Award. We all owe a debt of gratitude to the excellent services and contributions our president and the excom team have provided for our club and our members over the year.

Now, the gavel, as a symbol of leadership in Toastmasters, has been passed to the new leadership – led by our new president Anthony Tsang and the new excom team. We wish them nothing but the very best in the upcoming new term. Together we will help and support one another to learn and grow as a team and as a club while having lots of fun along the way.

The spotlight is not just shining on our new club officers, but also on the winners of the night, congrats on your amazing performance:
