The meeting last Monday was a stellar journey through personal growth and self-discovery. Our speakers shared inspiring stories of navigating uncertainty, overcoming doubt, and choosing one’s path. We capped off the last meeting of 2025 in the best way possible – with great food and even better company at our lively after-meeting dinner.
Lucy Morris took us back to her first month in Hong Kong, marked by the chaos of Typhoon Mangkhut and a nerve-wracking company meeting. She revealed how these moments of being unprepared propelled her to join Toastmasters, seeking the confidence to connect with any audience.
Abishek Kumar tackled the universal challenge of imposter syndrome with a powerful re-frame β itβs not a sign you aren’t good enough, but that you’re stretching and growing. He encouraged us to acknowledge that inner voice of doubt, look at our real achievements, and step forward anyway β letting confidence catch up later.
Adriel Yeung reflected on his six-year journey in IT, sharing how he began to feel lost trading his sense of agency for a stable paycheck. His key message was a poignant reminder β every life path has an opportunity cost, and we must consciously choose what we’re willing to trade.
A huge thank you to our speakers for their vulnerability and insight. It was a night that reminded us that growth happens just beyond our comfort zone, in the space between doubt and daring.
