The meeting last Monday night — “New Horizons”, was a powerful reminder to embrace growth, community, and the small steps that create big changes.
Mark Mak shared an inspiring personal story about picking up dancing in their 30s. Despite self-doubt, they applied the courage learned in Toastmasters to push through the initial awkwardness, transforming a new hobby into a profound source of joy. His message: step into the unknown — it’s never too late to try something new.
Irene Cheng introduced us to the heart warming novel The Miracles of the Namiya General Store. She reflected that while we may not all be advice-givers, we can still act as “small gears” in each other’s lives. By acting with good intention and fulfilling our duties well, we can gently push the world in a better direction.
Ariel Ng focused on a classic new year’s goal: improving vocal tonality. By breaking down its components and sharing practical methods, he made this intangible skill feel achievable. His final encouragement was a call for consistency — urging everyone to stay committed to their resolutions through inevitable challenges.
A huge thank you to our speakers for their vulnerability and wisdom. Here’s to discovering new horizons, together!
