[Meeting: June 16, 2025] What a fantastic evening we had at our meeting! We kicked things off with some delightful small talk, letting everyone mingle and spark up energetic vibes right from the start.
First up was the amazing Stephanie Fung with her inspiring speech titled “The Light in the Dark.” She took us on a journey through the intriguing world of dark tourism, reminding us how beautiful life can be when filled with love—even amidst suffering!
Next, we had the dynamic Annabelle Hong share her insights on “Courage vs. Confidence.” She motivated us to step outside our comfort zones and build our dreams one step at a time. Remember, courage and confidence are skills you can practice, and they’re totally transferable!
Then came the fabulous Irene Cheng with her intriguing talk on “Secrets to Long-Lasting Foreign Vocabulary.” Irene shared a hilarious story about taking the wrong bus in Germany and passing a grave site at night! Her adventure taught us that the best way to remember something deeply is to truly experience it.
After those inspiring speeches, we dove into an engaging evaluation workshop led by the talented duo, Ben Fung and Lavanya Ramesh. These seasoned Toastmasters introduced us to the A B C D concepts: Audience, Basic, Content, and Delivery, in a super interactive way. Guests got to put their new knowledge to the test, and everyone had a blast!
As we look forward to a new term, our wonderful president-elect, Shoni Wang, led a heartwarming new member induction ceremony. We welcomed Six new members into the fold, and we just know they’re in for an amazing journey with the Hong Kong Toastmaster Club!
