At our vibrant Diwali-themed meeting, we celebrated the Festival of Lights! Our Emcee – Lavanya Ramesh, beautifully explained the significance of Diwali, and the festive spirit was sweetened with homemade Indian chocolate ladoos, courtesy of Evaluator Aparna Sachar – a delicious treat for all.

Our speakers then lit up the room with their inspiring stories:

Jonathan Mok, an auditor, debunked common misconceptions about his field. Through compelling cases involving workplace inconsistencies and improper access controls, he revealed how auditing is a crucial tool for uncovering overlooked details and ensuring organisational integrity.

Cloris Hon shared her courageous career leap from marine logistics and being an air hostess to pursuing her true calling in physiotherapy. Her journey was a powerful testament to embracing change and following one’s passion.

Finally, Stephanie Lau reflected on what she called her “three lucky disasters” of the year. From being assisted by kind locals during the Bali floods, to a family cancellation that revealed a hidden blessing, and a scam date that taught a valuable lesson, she showed us how life’s biggest challenges can sometimes be its greatest gifts in disguise.
