In the 1st month of 2015, our club had 2 meetings using 3-word themes to launch the 61st year of Toastmastering in Hong Kong.
It was fantastic to kick start 2015 with a Toastmasters meeting on the first Monday evening in the first month of the year. It was great to see old and new members who were eager to “let go of 2014” and “set goals for 2015” to secure ‘killer opportunities’ ahead!

Past Presidents Rita Tsui hosted this regular meeting as TME by “Froze-ing” us to the theme “Let it Go”. Grammarian Sue Yen Leow encouraged us to use the phrase “killer opportunities” throughout the night. In the prepared speech section, Pan Tsang deilvered his Project 1 Speech: The Ice-Breaker and introducted himself to the club. Lisa Yip gave us a speech title “Let’s Blink!” and completed her Project 2. Rejoy Thomas delivered his Project 3 from the Competnent Commuincations manal. Edwin Lui, a seasoned Toastmaster, delieved a project from an Advanced Manual and by giving out “The Best Employee Award”. All speakers were evaluated by our experienced evaluators including Sandy Chan, Eng Wah Lim, Asta Lee and Alan Kwong. Our Guest General Evaluator Finnie Law from Victoria Toastmasters Club gave an evaluation on all the role players.

The second meeting of the month was filled with laughters. Past President Sandy Chan faciliated the meeting with enthuism and skills. Sandy invited all role players to string a sentence with the phrase “If I were…” and introduced them with thier response. Charlotte Leung and Cherry Chow both delivered their Project 2: Organize Your Speech from the Competent Communication manual. Charlotte gave the audience housekeeping tips. Cherry shared the importance of treasuring our loved ones. Everyone brusted into laughters when Martin Wong delivered his Project 4 and decribed himself and his spouse as “the head” and “the neck”. Eng Wah Lim acheived a major milestone in his Toastmasters journey by completing his Project 10: Inspire your Audience. Special thanks to Deborah Yu from Oasis Toastmasters Club for being our General Evaluator.
Our Club Officers attended Division GO’s Club Officer’s Training at Wan Chai. Apart from being a valuable learning opportunity, it was a great occation to network with fellow Toastmasters in Hong Kong.
